FAQs

Modern kitchen with light gray cabinets, wood countertops, black oven, stovetop, knife set, and hanging pendant light.
Bright and modern kitchen with light blue island, white bar stools, and decorative items like a vase with yellow flowers and a fruit bowl. Built-in microwave and oven, books on top of cabinets, and natural light from large windows.
  • The time it takes to repaint your kitchen cabinets depends on the size of the kitchen and the complexity of the work. On average, it takes about 5 days to complete. This includes prepping the surfaces, priming, sanding, painting, drying and refitting. We always aim to minimise disruption, and we’ll give you a clear timeline once we’ve assessed the project.

  • The cabinets don’t always need to be fully emptied, but the items inside will need to be pushed back from the front edge by a few inches. This allows us to deep clean and properly mask off the front of the cupboard carcasses. We’ll guide you through the process and explain what you need to do with the contents of your cabinets during our consultation to make things as straight forward and easy as possible.

  • At Yes!Decor, we use high-quality, eco-friendly paints specifically designed for kitchen cabinets. These are typically water-based, low-VOC paints that are durable, easy to clean, and give your cabinets a professional, smooth finish. If you have a specific paint preference, we’re happy to discuss options with you to ensure the best result for your space.

  • Our paints are specifically chosen for their durability, especially in high-traffic areas like kitchens. Once fully cured, the paint will be resistant to chipping, peeling, and moisture. With proper care, your freshly painted cabinets will last for years without needing a touch-up.

  • We’ll do our best to keep the disruption minimal, but there will be times when you won’t have full access to your cabinets while the paint dries. We recommend planning meals ahead of time or using a temporary setup if needed. We’ll keep you informed about drying times and work areas so you can plan accordingly.
