Living room full redecoration.

This beautiful house in Rothwell, Leeds was in need of a full living room redecoration.

After a good mist coat on the freshly plastered ceiling we went on with Tikkurila AR2 ceiling paint which is great for hiding any small imperfections. It looks like a polar bear in a snowstorm when it’s done, if you get my drift (snow drift).

The walls were painted with Farrow & Ball Dead Flat in Pink Ground and the woodwork was Tikkurila Everal Aqua 10 in white which looks great when sprayed leaving a subtle low sheen. It’s enamel too so nice and hard wearing.

The walls had been previously papered with deeply textured wallpaper, which can make cutting in the edges and rolling into the details a longer process, so this ended up being a full spray job. The ceiling, walls and all the woodwork were airless sprayed and this gave the pristine finish that’s hard to achieve with brushes and rollers.

The large wooden windows needed some detailed repair work but ended up looking great and the client was pleased with how they turned out.

The wallpaper had some soot staining from the log burner which required a good clean and then a stain blocking coating to stop any residual soot coming through the final finish.

With the wallpaper being deeply textured, cutting in the edges freehand was not the best option. To provide a sharp line against the textured edge it was masked off at the top and bottom and then the walls were sprayed. When the masking was removed the edge was crisp and sharp.

The client was really happy with the final result as the space was transformed and felt warm and inviting. All in all a satisfying job and we were pleased the end result - particularly the windows.
